January 4, 2010
I keep wanting to write December for the date. I actually just typed in December 4, 2009.. wow. This new year may take a little more getting used to than I thought.
I LOVE this belt and I'm so surprised that it took me so long to wear it. I found it at Goodwill about a month ago and every day I look at it and WANT to wear it but couldn't really figure out what to wear it with. I really liked the pairing of the metal pieces with the florals. What do you think?
We went to the Towne Center lake to take these pictures. Patrick picked up a piece of bread and threw it to the ducks and MY GOD I have never seen ducks go in such a rampage! One practically toppled over the other. And of course there was one duck that just kind of bobbled there and had no idea what was going on.. it was quite funny.
I kind of forget that it had rained really hard (yes, rain... GIVE US SNOW) the night before. Sorry, shoes!

So, I am in such a shopping rut right now, which is actually probably a good thing. The other day I got a scarf and belt at H&M (because I had a gift card) but other than that the last thing I got was the Coach bag I found before Christmas at the CHKD thrift store. I went to THREE thrift stores yesterday looking for a little inspiration, but NOTHING. I found a few things I think I normally would have bought, but I think that the closer I get to the Macbook, the harder it is the spend money on anything. I'm going to the Mac store today to take a look and keep that motivation going.
Also.. I'm pretty sure this is going to be the best birthday yet. I'm (hopefully.. praying my bio professor will let me skip two consecutive classes) going to New York the weekend before my birthday with my little brother and stepmom (I've never been!) and Charlottesville with Patrick the next weekend to our FAVORITE venue to see Iron and Wine! 29 days!
PS- All of the weird spacing on my blog.. I'm not doing that! And I don't know what's going on! Anyone know how to fix it? It's been like that for as long as I can remember on my blog and I don't know why. Ugh.
Have fun at Iron and Wine, dear! I love Charlottesville. And I love that belt, too! You're right, it's so pretty and vintage-looking. I think you wear it perfectly!

I love the belt! I have a similar one with metal pieces just like that. I think it pairs really well with floral patterns!
ReplyDeleteSuper cute! I love the skirt! Oh.. oh.. for the shoe; hopefully they can be cleaned easy!?

Love the bit of lace peeking out from underneath your skirt. I hope your shoes clean off well; I'm always dragging so much mud home--but who can resist exploring the great outdoors?
ReplyDeleteHow fun that I found a fashion blogger in my community! I live in Ghent and I found your link via, Adored Austin's new geographic linking! Then I saw a link from Tieka's blog! You're popular today:)
ReplyDeleteSO inspired browsing through your blog! Does your boyfriend take all your photos or do you take your own as well? What camera do you use?
ReplyDeleteI love your outfit, grey cardigans are a serious weakness for me! I'm having the hardest time with the date too, for some reason writing '10 instead of '09 is giving me a big problem- hope I snap out of it soon!
ReplyDeleteYou're dress is stunning.. and I love it paired with the cardigan and belt! Great find, by the way too! I hope you have lots of fun seeing Iron & Wine. I've never seen them.. but really want to someday! And with the spacing.. Brett used to have that problem on his blog too. I think it's when you try typing too close to your images.. but I'm not sure? Hehe! Talk to you sooooon. <3
ReplyDeleteThanks for your lovely comment :]
ReplyDeleteIt seems that I always buy things that I absolutely LOVE but it takes me awhile before I wear them because I want to pair them with something perfect. But that belt looks amazing in that outfit!

ReplyDeleteI just found your blog and I love your style! This outfit is so perfectly vintage-inspired and pretty. The belt is my favorite part!
ReplyDeleteI actually wrote the exact same thing-- 12.5.2009 on one of my school papers. Oops.
Oh, you're so cute in this photos! Happy New Year, sweet! =)
