Botanical Gardens in Norfolk is one of the most beautiful spots in Hampton Roads, especially in Spring when all of the flowers are in bloom. It's almost a little shocking to go in the winter when it's pretty much pretty benches and towers surrounded by bushes and dead grass.
A lot of locals get married here, and it's easy to see why. The gardens are 155 acres and filled with thousands of flowers once in bloom. I promise to come back for more pictures when all of the beautiful colors are everywhere.. with my new Nikon :)
I wasn't planning on wearing the coat for most of the shoot, but the wind chill was almost unbearable without a coat.. and no gloves didn't help too much either. The weather is so weird here, one day it will be sunny and 65 degrees and the next it will be gloomy and 21 degrees.
I found both this skirt and blouse at the thrift store last week and immediately knew that I HAD to wear them together. I have a huge weakness for anything with a bow or ascot tie. I love how this one isn't attached to the blouse.. I almost wore it as a big bow in my head, but I will save that for next time.
Oh, and last night was Tuesday night, meaning Open Mic Night at my Starbucks! Patrick played of course, and my God.. he blows me away more and more every week. He sang a new song, "Hymn #35" by Joe Pug.. such amazing lyrics. His voice was so soft and clear and perfect.. and I heard so much comfort and passion in his guitar. I cannot wait until he gets his Mac and recording stuff so he can make me an album to listen to all day long!

P.S.. My biology teacher told me I could miss two classes so I can go to NYC now! Only 3 weeks! My 6 year old brother is coming too so we will be going to lots of big toy stores and doing fun stuff.. I'm so excited. I told my stepmom that my only request is to visit a thrift store and a vintage store.. or some sort of combination of the two. Any suggestions?
P.S.S.. I want to thank everyone for your kind comments! I try to get back to everyone, but I'm sorry if I don't respond immediately! I just want to say that this is such an incredibly supportive community and I've made so many friends already. I wish I could meet every one of you and maybe that will happen someday! But really, I love getting to know everyone personally, so don't be afraid to ask questions or to shoot me an email at finderskeepersblog@yahoo.com.
